Items to Take On Your Next Cruise

My husband and I went on a cruise for our anniversary. I almost panicked when it was time to pack. I had no idea what to take on a cruise ship! We ended up having everything that we needed, except for formal clothes to wear to dinner. Ooops. I made a list of things that we took with us. Keep in mind that we went to the Bahamas. A pack of two waterproof phone pouches to keep your phone dry while you are in or around water. These are so nice to have!

Multiplug outlet extender with USB ports so you can charge more than one item at a time. It will add three extra outlets and two USB ports.

Packing cubes with laundry bag and shoe bag for sorting and organizing your belongings.

Command hooks to hang things on the walls – hats, jackets, towels, etc.

Poo Pourri because the rooms are small!

Collapsible water bottles – It is cheaper than buying water from them. Also, some ships have water stations and the water usually tastes better.

Anti-nausea acupressure wrist bands work for me. No one wants to be sick on a cruise ship! You could also take Dramamine if you are not interested in trying the wristbands.

An underwater/waterproof camera and video recorder. This particular one is a best seller on Amazon and has a very reasonable price. It also has over 10,000 reviews!

A cruise caddy or shoe organizer to keep all of your smaller items in one place. It will help to keep your room and bathroom very tidy.

A portable battery backup charger is something that Carnival recommends. According to their website, there is only one US electrical outlet in each room. You may end up taking turns charging your phone. It is always good to have a backup plan.

Beach towel clips for the days at the pool or on the beach. These clips are so handy and take up very little room in your luggage!

A mesh beach bag to carry your sunscreen, towel, phone, etc., to the beach.

Lanyards to hold your cruise id card. This should have been at the top of the list. The lanyards on the cruise ships can be pretty expensive.

A small portable fan to keep air stirring in your cabin. It will also be nice to have white noise when you are trying to sleep.

You may want to carry a small night light so you can see to walk in your cabin at night.

You may want to pack a snorkel set for one of your excursions. Paying to rent a mask and a snorkel can be expensive, but I would also be concerned that they were not cleaned properly. This set is on Amazon and comes in several different colors.

If you aren’t interested in taking a travel iron, take a spray wrinkle releaser. I use the Downy brand at home and really like it.

Keep your belongings safe with these TSA-compliant luggage locks.

Bright neon luggage handle wraps make your luggage easier to find at the airport. You can also use bright ribbon or yarn to make your bags stand out more.

I would highly recommend that you take several storage bags, such as Ziploc. They are perfect for wet swimsuits and dirty clothes. There are many things that I did not list, but here are 20 items that would be helpful for your next cruise.
